Job Title: General Ledger (GL) Accountant

Pay Rate: up to $65,000 annually

Position Overview

Our client, a leading logistics company in the Denver Tech Center, is seeking a GL Accountant with strong technical accounting skills and ideally has experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition. This role is ideal for candidates transitioning from public accounting into industry, or those with a blend of public and private experience. The GL Accountant will play a key role in month-end close, deal with some revenue recognition, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition principles to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and support financial statement preparation.
  • Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Sales) to resolve accounting issues.
  • Support process improvements and system enhancements for efficiency.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA track preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 3-4+ years of accounting experience.
    • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or mid-tier) highly preferred; blend of public/private experience ideal.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally SAP (Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Work Schedule

  • Onsite in Denver Tech Center
  • Monday-Friday, standard business hours
